Obituary for Emanuel John Deas, Jr.

Emanuel John Deas Jr., 51 of Brockton, MA, passed away Monday February 5, 2018 peacefully at home due to complications of Diabetes. Born in Cambridge, Ma, he was the son of the late Emanuel John Deas Sr. and Esther Allen (Foster) and former husband to Geri Deas (Barbosa).

He attended schools in Cambridge, MA. He worked in corporate America at MFS for a number of years before pursuing his passion for dance. Even as a young child, B-Boying gave him purpose. He was a founding member of the FloorLordz and toured the country to compete in many competitions. He put his all into dancing and teaching dance to whoever wanted to learn like he did. Recently he began working with local shelters and churches to start a non-profit he named “Ten Fingerz”

Emanuel is survived by his mother, Esther Allen (Foster) of Malden, MA and his former wife Geri Deas (Barbosa) of Brockton, MA. His 5 children, Nahshon Deas of Boston, MA, Alexandra Barbosa-Deas of Brockton, MA, Kayla Chatfield of Norwell, MA, Adam Barbosa-Deas of Brockton, MA and Gabrielle Deas of Brockton, MA, his grandchildren, Mason Deas and Mya Deas of Brockton, MA, his 5 sisters, Sharon Deas of Watertown, New York, Darlene Pina of Nashua, New Hampshire, Charlene Pina of Scituate, MA, Crystal-Lin Deas of Milton, MA and Tara Deas of Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by his many adoring nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, February 9th from 2:00-6:00PM. Private cremation will follow.
