Obituary for Allison Bonnyman Clarke

Allison Bonnyman Clarke, 45, of West Bridgewater, passed away Thursday, July 25, surrounded by her family, after a defiant battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Christopher Clarke; mother of William, Patrick and Matthew; daughter of Mildred and the late William Bonnyman; sister of Scott Bonnyman of West Bridgewater, Kevin Bonnyman of Halifax and Leslie Grundy of Chelmsford; and aunt, sister-in-law, niece, godmother and friend to many.

In addition to her love of family and friends, Allison was a devoted middle school teacher (French, Spanish), gymnastics coach, language club and ski club member in her hometown of Hingham. A graduate of Hingham High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Providence College, and her master’s degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts.

Allison had compassion and a zest for life unmatched by any. She loved food, travel, the beach, the mountains, and all things sports (she was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, and a fierce fantasy football competitor). But more than anything, she loved being a Mom to her wonderful three boys. From the hockey rink to the soccer field to the baseball diamond, she was always there to cheer them on and support their every endeavor.

She dearly loved her husband of 17 years, Chris, and he loved her back just as dearly.

Allison was kind and generous beyond compare… she always had an ear to lend, advice to share, a hug to give. And she was always smiling or laughing. Allison saw the good in everyone and everything, which is why she will be so sorely missed by everyone she touched.

Allison was born on October 20,1973 and will be laid to rest on July 31, 2019. Visiting hours are set for Tuesday, July 30, from 3-7pm at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., West Bridgewater. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 31st at 10:30am at St. Ann Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater, followed by interment at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.

The family has established a foreign language scholarship in Allison’s name, for students of Hingham High School. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Allison Clarke Memorial Scholarship, c/o Leslie Grundy, 28 Berkeley Drive, Chelmsford, MA 01824.
