Obituary for Anna G. (Rubicine) DiMaddalena

Anna G. (Rubicine) DiMaddalena, 88, of Brockton, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of the late Sanefe DiMaddalena for their 58 years of marriage.

Born October 12, 1929, in Miami, Florida she was a daughter of the late Pancrazio Rubicine and Rose (Chinchello) Rubicine. Anna was raised and educated in Brockton. She was a graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1950. In 1951 she married her husband Sanefe.

Anna worked for Randy’s Manufacturing Company in Randolph and Judy’s Wardrobe in Brockton. She was a clerk for Brockton Ward 4A for the city elections since 1970 up until her retirement in 2017. For many years she also was a member of TOPS #0310 Brockton.

Some of Anna’s hobbies were taking ceramic classes, playing bingo and word search books. She belonged to a bowling league. Anna liked watching movies. In her younger years she enjoyed keeping a scrapbook of all her favorite movie stars.

Anna and her husband enjoyed making their own wine. She was a very good cook. She loved entertaining for family and friends. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her children, Rosemary Tessier and her husband Donald, and Joseph DiMaddalena and his wife Theresa; her great-grandson Brennan M. Welch; her sister, Antoinette DaSilva and her husband Joseph; her sister-in-law, Kate Rubicine; and her beloved godson Antone DaSilva. She is also survived by her several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Michael S. Welch and sister of the late Lillian DeFeo, Frank Rubicine, Michael Rubicine, Mary Pellegrino, Joseph Rubicine and Robert Rubicine.

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, May 7th at 9:00AM thence to Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00PM-8:00PM.
