Evelyn C. (Brady) Lonergan, 85, of Bridgewater, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Richard L. Lonergan.

Born May 10, 1931 in Stoughton, she was the daughter of the late Ann (McDonald) Brady and Bernard Brady. She was born and raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. Evelyn moved to Brockton after her marriage and moved to Bridgewater about 25 years ago.

 She enjoyed bowling and was a member of many leagues in the area. She also played Bocce and enjoyed going to the casinos in Connecticut.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Lonergan, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Pembroke Pines, FL, John Lonergan and his life partner Patricia Scanlon of East Bridgewater, James Lonergan and his wife Diane of Bridgewater and Michael Lonergan and his wife Patricia of Middleborro; grandmother of Amanda, Ashley, James, Christopher, Cameron, Matthew, Michael II, Ashley, Brittany, Alyssa, Rylee and Patrick; she is also survived by her nieces and nephews,  Mary Jane Brophy, Ellen Ann Brophy, Donald Brady, Theresa Baker, Linda Beals, Bernard Brady, Robert Lonergan, Robin Kreiger, Scott Lonergan and Kathy McGonigle. She was the sister of the late Bernard Brady, Helen Brophy, Donald Brady, Joseph Brady, Leonard Brady, Arthur Brady and Mary Brady and aunt of the late Joseph Brady.

Funeral Information

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main Street (Rt.28) WEST BRIDGEWATER on Saturday, September 17th at 8:00AM thence to St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:00AM.  Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.  Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, West Bridgewater on Friday from 4:00-8:00PM.
