Joseph J. "Joe Joe" Thompson, 26, of Brockton, died unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Brockton.
Born February 1, 1991 in Colorado Springs, CO at the United States Air Force Academy, he was the son of Joseph R. Thompson, Jr. (BFD) and Elizabeth (Potter) Thompson. Joe was a graduate of Steele High School in Cibolo, Texas, Class of 2009.
He served his country in the United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was awarded the Humanitarian Ribbon for his participation during the Japan Tsunami. Joe enjoyed working out and was an avid New England Sports Fan. He loved all of his family dearly.
Joseph is survived by his father, Joseph R. Thompson, Jr. (BFD) and his wife Holly; his mother Elizabeth (Potter) Thompson; his grandfather, Joseph R. Thompson, Sr.; his siblings, Jaime Whitworth and his wife Trisha, Victoria Thompson and her partner Jon, Jacob Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Tamara Tidwell and her partner David and Zachary Valentine; his nieces and nephews, Stella, Jonathan, Noah and Remi; his aunts and uncles, Jamie Benson and her husband Danny, Jason Thompson and his wife Audrey, Justin Thompson and his wife Shelly, and Roberta Beldan and her husband Ronnie. He is also survived by his many cousins and friends. He was the grandson of the late Carol A. Neves.
Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, February 27th at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00-4:00PM.
