Wayne D. Arms
August 25, 1941 - October 29, 2017
Wayne D. Arms, age 76, of Raynham, Massachusetts passed away on October 29, 2017 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Roberta (Martin) Arms and father of Craig M. Arms.
Wayne was born and raised in Brockton, the son of the late Harry F. Arms and Barbara L. (Bain) Arms. He attended school there and graduated from Brockton High in 1959. He also attended the University of Massachusetts.
Wayne belonged to the Bricklayers Union Local 5 and in 1964 he founded W.D. Arms Construction Corporation. He was well known in the Brockton area and throughout the state for his numerous commercial construction projects. Wayne was also a member of the Baalis Sanford Lodge AF & AM for more than 50 years.
As a young boy, Wayne spent his summers with family in Nova Scotia where he learned to love dairy farming. As a result, he owned and operated Wayroc Farms in Jordanville, New York for a number of years. At one time, he also owned a home in Warner, New Hampshire
In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his sister Carol L. Allen of Plymouth, his sister Joan M. Nelson and her husband Robert W. Nelson of Bridgewater, along with many nieces, nephews and loving friends. His son Craig continues to own and operate W.D. Arms and Son Construction, Inc.
Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (RT28) West Bridgewater on Thursday, November 2nd at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Pleasant Street Cemetery, Raynham. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on WEDNESDAY from 4:00-8:00PM.
