Lawrence W. "Larry" Gouldrup
January 28, 1937 - January 23, 2017
Lawrence “Larry” Wayne Gouldrup, passed away on Monday, January 23rd at Lee Memorial Hospital from complications from pancreatic cancer. Larry was born on January 28th, 1937 to Paul W. and Ada L. (Steeves) Gooldrup in Lewiston, ME.
Larry grew up in Brockton, MA, never leaving his ties there behind. After he graduated from Bridgewater State College, he started his career in education where he served as both a teacher and an administrator. He spent the majority of his career at the Kennedy School, where he was loved by his students. He also enjoyed managing a program for children with disabilities during the summers in Brockton. He moved to Easton, MA to start and raise his family, where he stayed until he retired. He enjoyed playing golf and talking about the glory days of Brockton football, never missing the chance to go to a game. Once he retired, he relocated to North Fort Myers, FL, where he stayed active working at golf courses, and cheering on his sports teams.
Larry is survived by his loving partner of 14 years, Helene Morse; his son, Brian Gouldrup and his wife Chandra; his daughter, Paula Marie Gouldrup; his son, Stephen Gouldrup and his wife Jen; his grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Sophie, Zachery and Jackson he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary (Moffitt) Gouldrup and his brothers, Paul and Harold, and his sister Beverly.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St.,(Rt.123) Brockton from 3:00 to 4:30PM followed by a memorial service at 4:30PM.
Following the memorial service the family invites everyone to join them for a celebration of Larry's life at the Farmer's Daughter, 122 Main St., Easton.
