Pota Kanellopoulos, 86, of Fairhaven, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Our Lady’s Haven in Fairhaven after a period of failing health.
Born November 2, 1930 in Sellasia, Greece, she was a daughter of the late Panagiotis and Trisevgeni (Karafotia) Kanellopoulos.
Raised and educated in Greece, when Pota came to the United States she was a seamstress for several years for Brockton based clothing manufacturers. She was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
Pota loved her family and will be remembered for her smile, kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Voula Economos, of Fairhaven, and the late Anthony S. Economos; her loving brother, Paul Kanellopoulos and his wife Theodora, of Plymouth; her nieces and nephews, Irene Kapothanasis and her husband Paul; Jean Economos Davis and her husband James, Steve Economos and his wife Eileen; Peter Kanellopoulos and his wife Jody, Roula Dye and her husband Dennis; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Saturday, August 5th at 10:00AM followed by a Funeral Service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in the Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30AM-10:00AM.
